AGCC “Graduates Team” into the WCCC T20 Competition for season 2017-18
Date of Event : Thu Aug 31, 2017 4:26PM

Chairman of the All Girls Cricket Competition, Iain Giles, is delighted to announce the team entry of a 'Graduates Team' from the AGCC into the South Division of the T20 Women's Community Cricket Competition for 2017/18 -

'As discussed and agreed at the recent AGCC Planning Day, there is a gap and therefore a need to provide a pathway for past AGCC players, too old to play in our U16 competition, but who still want to play cricket. We coined the term a “Graduates Team” and subsequently we have requested and been accepted by the Women’s Community Cricket Competition (WCCC) to enter a “Graduates” Team into the South T20 competition this season.

This competition provides a pathway for not only past AGCC players, but all girls 16 years and over who want to continue to play cricket but do not want to move to Women’s Premier League clubs or play in a mixed team (either junior or senior). The WCCC is a senior women’s competition so this team will be playing against women of all ages, so in addition our team, has the opportunity to have some senior players as well. We would expect these senior players would provide leadership (i.e. a Captain), maintain the philosophy of the AGCC and help the younger girls as they move into this competition'.
